About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at ConnextCare. In this role, you will work closely with our healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care and support.
Responsibilities:
- Escort patients into examination rooms, initiating chart documentation in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
- Maintain a timely flow of patients according to the day's schedule, ensuring seamless care delivery.
- Provide patient education materials and facilitate question-and-answer sessions to empower informed decision-making.
- Execute medical regimens prescribed by licensed providers, including tests, treatments, referrals, prescription preparation, and computer scheduling.
- Complete electronic health records accurately, capturing services provided and charges.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, in-service workshops, continuing education, and peer review as requested by management and supervision.
- Follow up on provider-ordered lab results and specialist referrals, promoting efficient care coordination.
- Comply with OSHA regulations, CLIA, NYSDOH, Quality & NOCHSI policies, and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Engage in Patient-Centered Medical Home initiatives, collaborating with the Clinical Care Team to deliver comprehensive care.
Requirements:
- Graduate of a certified nursing program, holding a New York State license to practice practical nursing, with a willingness to accept direction from providers and supervisors.
- Able to work well and with compassion in stressful situations, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
- Maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor with patients and colleagues, upholding confidentiality standards.
Salary Information:$16.80-$24.49 per hour, depending on experience.
