Nursing Assistant - Patient Care Professional

About the Role:
Catholic Medical Center is seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team in the Cardiovascular Surgical Unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care activities within the scope of Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) practice, as defined by the State Board of Nursing and organizational policies.
  • Assist healthcare providers with selected patient care activities or tasks as appropriate.
  • Report observations, symptoms, and changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Respond promptly to patient call bells, perform patient rounds, and communicate effectively with staff to meet patient needs.
  • Support patients and families in addressing psychosocial needs and cultural preferences.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including ambulation, transfers, range of motion, and personal hygiene.
  • Participate in patient admission processes and ensure patient privacy and dignity.
  • Perform Electrocardiograms (EKGs), Capillary Blood Glucose (CBG) monitoring, and other designated technical procedures as directed.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers.
  • Participate in quality monitoring activities, restock supplies, and maintain equipment cleanliness.
  • Adhere to safety principles, infection control protocols, and organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current registration as a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) in the State of New Hampshire.
  • Basic computer keyboarding and data entry skills required.
  • BLS certification required; must obtain prior to completion of orientation, not to exceed 21 days from date of hire.
  • Must maintain BLS certification throughout employment.
