Overview

Synchrony is a leading provider of consumer financial services and we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Protection Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Information Security organization, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our data and protecting our customers' sensitive information.

Salary Range: $95,000 - $160,000 per year, plus an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned engineer with expertise in designing and building effective data loss prevention (DLP) policies and rules. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of identifying and mitigating data security risks, as well as experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class security solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build DLP policies and rules to protect sensitive data
  • Support the development and management of DLP metrics
  • Stay current with emerging threat landscapes and develop/enhance capabilities and strategies to safeguard the business from data exfiltration
  • Act as a subject matter expert to assist with solving data loss prevention problems
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of sensitive data to protect for DLP capabilities
  • Serve as a DLP expert, trusted advisor, and central point of contact for IT and business stakeholders

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in information security, engineering, application development, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a data loss prevention role
