VP of Finance Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled VP of Finance to join our Orchard Brands Team at Bluestem Brands. As a Senior Leadership team member, you will provide strategic insights and oversee the finance function, including planning, budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage financial plans, targets, and strategies to achieve the desired financial and business objectives of Orchard Brands.
  • Lead the day-to-day management of finance, budgeting, financial reporting, and capital investment analysis.
  • Ensure timely close process in partnership with accounting through management of invoice processing and contract/invoice accruals.
  • Lead monthly reporting, including P&L statements, working capital, capital expenditures, and cash flow.
  • Communicate financial results to GM, Orchard SLT, and the broader organization with appropriate level of details for each audience.
  • Provide insight into business operations and growth opportunities with long-range financial modeling incorporating scenario planning based on strategic initiatives.
  • Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; communicate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leaders abreast of financial status.
  • Analyze operational issues impacting the business, measure business performance, and determine financial impact of business decisions to proactively identify areas of opportunity.
  • Conduct financial and business analyses of potential new projects/initiatives and develop funding models and implementation plans.
  • Serve as a thought-partner to key functional areas, including inventory planning, merchandising, marketing, operations, customer care, and technology.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of financial experience.
  • 5+ years of financial leadership experience as a VP of Finance or Senior Director of Finance.
  • Experience in leading a finance team.
  • Experience in financial planning and forecasting, capital expenditure management, auditing, budget process, month-end close processes, financial reporting, cash flow analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership presence and collaboration skills.
  • Strong software skills and competencies using MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
