Technical Training Specialist

What You Will Do
- We are excited to be opening our new distribution facility in a state-of-the-art location using technology that minimizes our carbon footprint. Our 400,000 square foot facility will serve as one of our global shipping hubs responsible for meeting the demand of our customers internationally.
The Technical Training Specialist identifies, develops, and provides high quality technical training for assembly and production workers, enabling new and current employees to effectively perform their jobs. Key responsibilities include:
- Train non-exempt plant employees on manufacturing related processes and technology including manual assembly, machining certification, and plant procedures.
- Partner with leaders for assigned line(s) to identify appropriate technical training and development needs.
- Ensure Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is used as a standard for operations training, provide TPM training, and coach employees on creating job breakdown sheets and instructing effectively through the TPM methodology.
- Perform audits to minimize technical training gaps.
- Contribute to the training effectiveness and quality notification process.
- Provide analysis and metrics regarding learning effectiveness.
- Contribute to the recruitment process by carrying out dexterity tests for potential employees.
- Maintain training records.
- Act as a change agent among production employees to support engineering and quality initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in current training materials and manufacturing procedures and implement modifications.
- Participate in Lean events and courses to obtain Lean Level 1 Certification.
Salary Information
We offer a competitive salary of $26 per hour for this position. This compensation package includes a total rewards program including parental leave, generous vacation and sick days, holidays, and a volunteer day.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certificate in Training within Industry (TWI) Job Instruction Train the Trainer Certified (Level 1 preferred).
- Experience utilizing a Learning Management System highly desirable.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and collaborate well in a team environment.
