Core Faculty Position

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Core Faculty member is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities for both the BA and MA Early Childhood Education (ECE) programs at the Pasadena Campus and for Online students. This faculty member is expected to fulfill teaching responsibilities during day, evening, or weekend sessions as needed, across any Pacific Oaks College campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, plan, organize, and instruct courses in the day, evening, or on weekends on any Pacific Oaks College campus as assigned;
- Ensure that each course is taught according to an approved syllabus and meets the curricular and pedagogical standards of the program. Incorporate instructional technologies and adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Maintain clear communications with students regarding course content, requirements, evaluation procedures, and grading timelines.
- File a course syllabus for each course taught with the Dean and Program Manager;
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate actively in the review and development of programs, curriculum, and student learning outcomes.
- Recommend improvements to the curriculum that align with the college's mission and goals.
- Stay updated on current trends and innovations in instructional methods and content through ongoing professional development.
Requirements:
- Earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. from a regionally accredited university.
- A minimum of 2 years of teaching early childhood education courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Scholarship: A strong interest and competence in research and scholarship.
- Service: Record of service to previous institution(s), the profession, and the community.

Environmental Conditions:
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderately noisy while in the office. The office temperature is about 70 degrees.
Decision Making:
The position is governed by the policies of Pacific Oaks, along with established procedures for the department. Independent judgment is required in the supervision of personnel as well as in the carrying out of the department's strategic goals and budget management.
Contact Responsibilities:
Routine exchange or presentation of information.
Responsible for demonstrating professionalism and leadership in resolving conflicts with students and employees. Recommends alternative approaches to solve problems and conflicts.
Financial Responsibility:
This position does not require the management of budgets, but it is required to follow Pacific Oaks policies for purchasing and budget approvals.

Compensation & Benefits:
This opportunity is budgeted at $66,560.00-73,170.00 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
