We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at OrthoLoneStar PLLC. The ideal candidate will have experience in orthopedics and/or trauma and be able to provide high-quality care in our clinic setting.

The successful candidate will work closely with our orthopedic surgeons and other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose and treat patients with musculoskeletal conditions and traumatic injuries.

The specific responsibilities of the Nurse Practitioner will include:

  • Performing medical examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up, consultations and health education appropriate for the patient's age and situation.
  • Obtaining patient histories and developing patient care charges, ensuring completeness and accuracy of documentation.
  • Ordering, obtaining and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests.
  • Designing, ordering and documenting appropriate treatment plans/plans of care including prescriptions of medications based on a comprehensive review of HPI and diagnostic results.
  • Communicating plan of care with appropriate providers including the collaborative physician, the primary care provider, the referring provider, the nursing staff, and the case manager.
  • Communicating plan of care with the patients and family members. Providing patient and family instruction related to the plan of care, disease process, new treatment plans, and medication regimens.
  • Providing medical care for ill and injured patients in accordance with accepted standards of care.
  • Performing or assisting in any duties required for efficiency, quality, and to meet patients and physicians schedule.
  • Providing health education to patients and families as required and appropriate.
  • Documenting medical findings and care provided in the patient's clinical record, including information of laboratory and radiographic studies.
  • Collaborating with physician or other health care team members regarding patients' health needs, outcomes and effectiveness of care plan.
  • Assisting with discharge planning.
  • Initiating appropriate contact with other health care providers as required.
