Job Summary

Staff Source is seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team in a scrap yard environment. This is a full-time temp to hire position with a competitive hourly rate of $20.


The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a grapple crane to move, lift, and reposition scrap within the yard, as well as loading trucks, rail cars, and barges with metal scrap.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing safety inspections on equipment and facilities
  • Completing inspections of the crane and surrounding area to ensure safe operation
  • Reporting any equipment malfunctions or concerns to management
  • Following all safety rules and maintaining a clean work area


Requirements:

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Steel-toed boots required
  • At least 1 year of experience in crane operations
  • Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment
  • Detail-oriented and able to work with limited supervision
