Nurse (Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum) - Irwin Army Community Hospital

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse (Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum) to join our team at Irwin Army Community Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetrical patients and their infants, utilizing your expertise in labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to patients during the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages of labor, including high-risk and critical conditions.
- Perform infant respiratory care tasks, such as lung auscultation, transcutaneous pulse oximetry, and bulb and DeLee suctioning.
- Obtain capillary and venous blood samples from infants, interpret lab reports, and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients and families experiencing perinatal and neonatal loss, including coordination of care and follow-up.
- Assist with the orientation process for new staff members and serve as a clinical preceptor to new and developmental LDRP nurses.
- Utilize the nursing process to formulate patient care plans, identify and prioritize patient care problems, and implement nursing orders.
- Administer complex medications, including intravenous and respiratory medications, and recognize and respond to emergency situations.
- Collaborate with Providers and Midwives to provide comprehensive care to obstetrical patients, including emergency interventions and CPR as necessary.
- A graduate or higher level degree in nursing from an accredited professional nursing educational program.
- A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- At least one year of licensed experience as a registered nurse, with experience in LDRP, Gynecology/Obstetrics preferred.
