ActiveMQ Middleware Engineer

CBTS is seeking an experienced ActiveMQ Middleware Engineer to join our team in Cincinnati, OH.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and manage ActiveMQ components, including brokers, queues, topics, and services.
  • Lifecycle management of ActiveMQ products to ensure the latest features and security fixes are in place.
  • Monitor the health and performance of ActiveMQ systems using tools like Tibco Hawk, Tivoli, or other monitoring solutions.
  • Tune system configurations to optimize performance, including memory usage, threading, and connection settings.
  • Configure and manage load balancing to distribute workloads across multiple servers and ensure high availability.
  • Implement and manage RBAC policies.
  • Ensure ActiveMQ systems are configured according to security best practices and industry regulations.
  • Implement and manage backup procedures for ActiveMQ configurations, databases, and applications.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in case of system failures or data loss.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 9 years of IT experience and 5 years of ActiveMQ administration experience.
  • Experience in monitoring, optimizing, and managing ActiveMQ middleware environments using relevant tools.
  • Ability to apply integration design patterns, including message routing using multiple technologies.
  • Experience in creating scalable, reliable, and secure integration architectures using ActiveMQ technologies.

Nice to Have Experience:

  • Experience in integrating Tibco solutions with various APIs.
  • Exposure to data mapping, transformation, and handling different data formats.
  • Experience with automation tools and techniques to streamline deployment and management processes.
  • Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting complex integration issues.
  • Exposure to cloud-based integration and orchestration services.
