Job Description
The Engineering and Infrastructure Facility Maintenance department seeks a skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to support operational ground electrical/power systems at all ULA launch sites. Primary responsibilities include:
- Providing electrical engineering support for day-to-day execution of launch facility design, maintenance, and operations – focusing on electrical systems
- Coordinating facility electrical support of launch operations and scheduling facility electrical functional support
- Collaborating with technical staff and contractors in the design, operations, and maintenance of new/existing electromechanical systems
- Ensuring Base High Voltage supply infrastructure readiness in support of Launch Operations
- Supporting launch console activities during major operations and testing
- Scheduling and executing facility electrical validations and pre-launch checkouts
- Developing new and revising existing operational test procedures and maintenance documentation associated with launch facility electromechanical systems
- Crafting facility electrical mission unique capabilities
- Operating and maintaining hazardous commodity detection and monitoring systems
- Managing mobile electrical systems
- Designing, operating, and maintaining Programmable Logic Controllers or similar firmware controllers supporting launch facilities and systems
- Addressing corrective actions and coordinating with cross-functional groups to identify/implement solutions and drive strategic improvements relative to maintenance and production processes
- Applying technical engineering knowledge and expertise in completing project aspects, including technological considerations, cost/financial administration, and schedule management
- Contributing to the development and coordination of technical portions of proposals, statements of work, and contract specifications
Required Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
- Functional application of NEC/NFPA 70 and 72
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70E
- Demonstrated communication, writing, and oral skills
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
