The Director of Building Envelopes/FISP at Stealth is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Facade Inspection Safety Program (FISP) department.

This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in FISP compliance and certification as a Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI). The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of facade inspection and maintenance regulations, along with proven leadership skills to guide a team effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the FISP team, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Cultivate a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the department. Manage and mentor a team comprising inspectors, engineers, and administrative staff.

FISP Compliance:

  • Oversee the execution of FISP inspections and audits to meet Local Law 11 requirements.
  • Coordinate with QEWIs and external vendors for inspections, assessments, and report generation.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of all applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards related to facade inspections and maintenance.
  • Ensure project and assessment compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

Budgeting and Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Procure necessary equipment, software, and services for the FISP department.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction with services.

Report Generation and Documentation:

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of comprehensive FISP reports, including remedial work recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, assessments, and compliance documentation.

Training and Development:

  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the knowledge and skills of the FISP team.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facade inspection and safety compliance.
  • Certification as a Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI).
  • Proven leadership experience, including team management and mentorship.
  • Strong understanding of local building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and technology for inspection and reporting.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
