Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Professional Nurse (RPN) to join our team as a Per Diem Travel RNII. In this role, you will be responsible for utilizing your nursing skills to diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential problems of individuals or groups. You will work within and contribute to an environment where the Trinity Health mission is actualized, patient outcomes are achieved, and professional practice is realized.

Responsibilities

  • Bringing patients to exam rooms, taking vital signs, and documenting them in electronic medical records.
  • Reviewing and updating medication lists to ensure accuracy and completeness in electronic medical records (EMRs) available for provider review and submission.
  • Completing referrals and tracking patients' compliance with treatment plans.
  • Reviewing prescriptions electronically and sending them to providers for review and submission.
  • Obtaining patient consent for procedures as directed by providers.
  • Performing pre-visit planning and reviewing quality metrics.
  • Retrieving telephonic clinical information from patients who call into the office.
  • Maintaining task lists and completing tasks assigned by providers in a timely manner based on urgency.
  • Educating patients about medications, testing procedures, and home care techniques.
  • Ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation for patient specimens.
  • Following up with patients regarding test results based on advice given by providers.
  • Maintaining clean and safe working environments, including disinfecting patient care areas and equipment.
  • In conjunction with other nursing colleagues, maintaining medical supply cabinets and drug cabinets.
  • Using electronic medical records to communicate effectively with patients and providers.
  • Performing quality assurance duties as assigned.
  • Providing clinical visit summaries (patient plans) to patients upon request, including educational materials.
  • Participating in daily patient care huddles as appropriate.
  • Collaborating with all colleagues to ensure high-quality patient care at all times.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred, while a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A current unencumbered NYS RN license is necessary.
  • BLS certification is also required.
  • Six months of previous RN experience is recommended.
  • The ability to lift 20 pounds is essential.

Salary Information

This position offers an estimated salary range of $32.50-$46.25 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Pay may vary depending on location and individual qualifications.
