Nurse Residency Program Overview
The ChristianaCare Nurse Residency Program is a 12-month program designed to support new nurses in their transition to practice. The program is accredited with distinction as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs.
Program Benefits
- Preceptor-led clinical experiences on multiple units, including medical, surgical, and step-down units
- Comprehensive orientation and training, including ACLS and dysrhythmia training
- Professional development courses to support ongoing learning and growth
- Opportunities for float pool assignments between Wilmington and Christiana Hospitals
Requirements
- Graduating from an accredited nursing school (BSN preferred)
- BLS required
- Less than 12 months of nursing experience by the start of the program
- Eligible for Delaware license as a Graduate Nurse/Registered Nurse
Application Process
Applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and transcript. Two clinical recommendations will be required, but not at the time of application. If selected, applicants will participate in a video interview and provide clinical instructor references.
