About the Role

This position involves daily activities to ensure clients' basic financial needs are met and accurate financial records are maintained. You will work closely with Case Managers and other members of the Accounting Department to achieve this goal.

Responsibilities
  • Daily entry of transactions in accounting software to maintain accurate financial records
  • Generate checks in accounting software to ensure timely payment of clients' bills, prioritizing essential expenses such as rent, utilities, groceries, and medical expenses
  • Receive and disburse client funds, including cash and checks, to and from Case Managers
  • Reconciliation and deposit of client funds
  • Assist Case Managers with client budgeting process when needed
  • Maintain accurate and detailed electronic and physical records for each client, including income, expenses, and transactions
  • Prepare Social Security Reports to ensure client information is up-to-date with the Social Security Administration and similar agencies
  • Verify accuracy of client account balances in accounting software and cash on hand
  • Voucher contracts receivables for the Shelter Plus Care program
  • Answer telephone calls and assist internal and external customers
  • Receive and distribute client mail to appropriate care personnel
