Culinary Team Lead

This position is responsible for overseeing the preparation and serving of nutritious meals to students in a safe and healthy environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service management and be able to lead a team to achieve high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate food preparation and serving according to menus and portion sizes.
- Delegate and perform cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning equipment, and washing dishes.
- Order and receive food, beverages, and paper products needed for daily service.
- Brew coffee, fill beverage machines, and set up hot and cold food areas.
- Deliver food to staff, students, and catering events as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health department requirements for safe food handling.
- Comply with client location security protocols and guidelines.
- Check and store incoming supplies.
- Manage break schedules and participate in safety committee meetings.
- Attend mandatory in-service programs.
- Manage POS/cash handling and confirm deposits.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Servsafe certification.
- Ability to speak and read English.
- 1 year professional food service experience.
Work Environment:
The work is performed primarily in the kitchen and on the serving line. Standing most of the workday is required. Work requires movement in and out of store rooms and freezers. Exposure to extreme temperatures due to cooking and refrigeration equipment. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
