Laredo Medical Center's Skilled Nursing Unit is seeking a Full-Time Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA II) to join our team at the 326-bed acute care hospital in sunny Laredo, Texas. This 18-bed unit offers opportunities to work with geriatric and rehabilitation patients, including surgical, neurology, cardiology, and other specialties.

About the Role

As a CNA II, you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assisting patients with activities of daily living, collecting vital signs, and documenting patient interactions. You will also participate in organizational and professional activities, such as quality assurance and improvement plans, and provide care for patients with dementia.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the admission of patients to the Nursing Unit
  • Provide patient care as assigned, in accordance with patients' needs and LMC policy
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ensure emergencies are immediately addressed according to LMC policy and procedure
Requirements
  • Current and valid Texas Nurse Aide Registry certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, completed prior to patient contact
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred; 1-2 years of nursing home or long-term care experience preferred
  • Two letters of recommendation
Estimated Salary Range: $35,000 - $45,000 per year

This salary range is based on industry standards for CNA II positions in the Laredo, Texas area.
