Riverview Hospital is seeking a skilled Ambulatory Coder Specialist to join our team.

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Summary:

The Ambulatory Coder Specialist will be responsible for reviewing and coding clinical data for assigned practices, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information for billing purposes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Review and code patient data from medical records, discharge summaries, history and physical reports, and other related documentation.
  2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements, coding rules, and standards in areas of responsibility.
  3. Support the principles of responsibility by maintaining confidentiality, protecting organizational assets, and acting with integrity.
  4. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum one year of experience in ambulatory coding or related field.
  • Certified Coder (CPC-A, CPC, CCS-P, or RHIT) certification.
