Job Summary

As a Medical Assistant at William Newton Hospital, you will play a vital role in providing patient care in our office setting. This position requires a high level of initiative and responsibility, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or physician to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, and consults with other health team members as required.
  • Assists medical staff with routine examinations and patient treatments, including pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
  • Notifies licensed personnel when patients complain of pain and performs patient care responsibilities considering the standard of care for patients of all ages.
  • Communicates effectively with co-workers, practitioners, and office staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assists with laboratory testing, prepares blood/fluid samples, and completes lab requisitions accurately.
  • Manages clinic inventory, ensures adequate stock of supplies, and assists in cost containment efforts.
  • Responds to emergency situations, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certification as a Medical Assistant preferred
