The Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership (CVNL) is conducting an executive search for a dedicated leader to guide Farm to Pantry. Established to address the pressing need for fresh, nutritious produce in our community, Farm to Pantry has been instrumental in providing essential food resources to those in need since its inception in 2008.

Farm to Pantry's mission is to unite communities in the fight against food injustice and climate change by rescuing and distributing locally-sourced food to marginalized populations. To date, we have successfully delivered over 7.5 million servings of fruits and vegetables, demonstrating our commitment to this vital cause.

Our organization thrives on the efforts of over 350 volunteers, 250+ property owners, and numerous community partners, all of whom share our vision of a fair food system that ensures everyone has access to healthy food while promoting environmental sustainability.

Role Overview

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will hold comprehensive strategic and operational responsibilities for the successful realization of Farm to Pantry's mission. The CEO will spearhead all facets of our mission, including team leadership, donor cultivation, partnership development, and the establishment of efficient financial management and operational systems.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership:
  • Formulate strategic and operational plans to achieve Farm to Pantry's objectives.
  • Engage and energize communities, donors, volunteers, and partner organizations.
  • Build and maintain a robust board of directors, fostering their involvement in strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Committee to create agendas and lead productive board meetings.
  • Guide, mentor, and support a dedicated team, promoting a culture of trust and accountability.
  • Develop a human resources strategy to ensure the organization has the talent and capacity to fulfill its mission.
  • Promote a healthy, inclusive, and collaborative organizational culture.

Fund Development/Public Engagement:
  • Lead efforts to generate public enthusiasm and support for Farm to Pantry.
  • Represent Farm to Pantry at various events and public engagements.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive fundraising and development strategy.
  • Secure financial backing from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
  • Foster strong relationships with major donors.

Finance/Operations/Administration:
  • Ensure programmatic excellence and high-quality financial management.
  • Work with the Treasurer and Board to develop and manage the annual budget responsibly.
  • Implement appropriate fiscal controls and policies to safeguard the organization's assets.
  • Continuously seek innovative ways to enhance operational processes and organizational effectiveness.
