We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Critical Care Registered Nurse Residency to join our team at Rhode Island Hospital, part of the Lifespan Corporation. This comprehensive program is designed for graduate nurses looking to transition into critical care nursing.

About the Program

The Critical Care Nurse Orientation/Program in collaboration with the Brown University Health Vizient Residency Program is meticulously crafted to aid candidates in their transition from student nurses to proficient critical care nursing professionals. Graduate nurses will work in tandem with seasoned preceptors who will actively nurture their professional development education and growth.

Job Summary

This residency opportunity provides a unique chance to develop your skills in critical care nursing while working alongside an exceptional team at Rhode Island Hospital. As a resident, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both step-down and intensive care units, receiving comprehensive training and clinical guidance that equips you with the necessary competencies to provide care for critically ill patients.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information.

Requirements

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or licensure in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
  • Baccalaureate in Nursing degree preferred.
  • BLS (Basic Life-Support) American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Ability to lift and position patients, as well as work in a fast-paced environment.
