Job Overview

The Office of the Chief Financial Officer, located in Washington, DC, seeks a highly skilled Financial Operations Specialist to support office operations by performing administrative and financial tasks. About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized professional who can effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities. The successful candidate will have experience supporting office operations, including budget formulation, execution, and monitoring, as well as proficiency in using accounting/financial systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

The Financial Operations Specialist will be responsible for providing support in the areas of budget formulation, execution, and monitoring; contracting and procurement; purchase card administration and monitoring; time reporting review; and other related functions. Duties include participating in the annual budget formulation process, serving as the informational contact for the contracting office, and maintaining accurate accountability of department/program financial resources in compliance with policies and regulations.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have two (2) years of progressive experience performing the related duties and responsibilities such as assisting with budget formulation and preparing financial reports; tracking expenditures, reconciling financial accounts, and conducting financial analysis; reviewing and processing financial transactions (i.e., Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable); and utilizing financial systems to validate and verify financial data. Specialized experience that provides the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, is also required.
