We are seeking a Respiratory Care Specialist to join our team at MO-SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - St. Charles.

Job Summary

The Respiratory Care Specialist will provide evaluation and care for respiratory therapy patients, administering prescribed therapeutic services and implementing patient care plans.

This role requires a strong understanding of respiratory care principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Evaluating Patient Needs: Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment, developing a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Providing Respiratory Care Services: Administer prescribed respiratory therapeutic services, ensuring adherence to specific physician's orders, department policies and procedures.
  • Implementing Patient Care Plans: Monitor and record patient condition, performing advanced respiratory care modalities as needed.
  • Continuing Education: Stay current with industry developments and best practices, applying knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
Education and Experience

A minimum of an Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent years of experience and education is required.

No prior experience is necessary, but relevant certifications such as RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) and BLS HCP (Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider) are highly desirable.

Work Environment

This role involves working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, requiring constant alertness and safe manner.

Shift work and night shifts may be required.
