Job Summary:
As a School Monitor at Wasilla Middle School, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students on school grounds. Under direct supervision, you will monitor student behavior and safety during lunch periods and recess, both indoors and outdoors. Your responsibility will be to maintain appropriate behavior and safety according to established guidelines. You will also direct students in the proper use of school equipment and facilities, preventing and intervening in student arguments or fights.

Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor student activities during lunch periods and recess to ensure safety and behavior
• Direct students in proper use of school equipment and facilities
• Prevent and intervene in student arguments or fights
• Intercept unfamiliar personnel on school grounds and request identification or direct them to the school office
• Assist instructors with first aid and accompany injured students to the nurse
• Perform basic clerical duties as needed, such as filing, copying, answering phones, and sorting/distributing mail

Requirements:
High School Diploma is required, and previous education, training, or work experience that demonstrates ability to perform job tasks is desirable. A valid Alaska Driver's License is also required.

Physical Requirements:
This role involves light physical activity, including exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently, while sitting most of the time.
