About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of specialized / complex laboratory tests and analyses under minimal supervision by applying standard techniques and analytical principles.
  • Assist with daily quality control checks and ensure laboratory work compliance with set standards.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
  • Oversee and perform mentoring, training, and onboarding of previous level employees.
  • May participate in the interview and hiring process for prospective staff for the lab practice as requested by management.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and SOPs.
  • Participate in laboratory coordination/management functions to assist supervisor.
  • Oversee Lab supplies inventory and assist to place order as needed.
  • Oversee waste management process and ensures compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain appropriate files and records on assigned laboratory work projects, and prepares periodic reports as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science or Medical Technology.
  • Academic degree in Medical Technology.
  • NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license required.
  • Three (3) years' experience as a Lab Technologist with supervisory role experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal (CLIA) and NYS Regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with automated laboratory equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Computer literacy and experience with Laboratory Information Systems.
  • Strong analytical judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • Mathematic and measurement skills.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Highly proficient in training and mentoring.
  • Bilingual (English and Chinese) preferred.
