As a 3rd Shift Logistics Manager, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the effective operation of our assigned areas, meeting established schedules and production requirements while maintaining cost.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement plans for efficient use of machines and manpower to achieve cost, quality, and inventory management targets.
  • Monitor customer delivery performance, cost reduction programs, lead-time improvements, and quality improvement projects to enhance customer value and business unit results.
  • Ensure proper direction and supervision of activities in assigned areas to maintain effective utilization of personnel and machinery.
  • Determine needs and coordinate actions required to maintain standards of efficiency, quality, and safety in areas supervised.
  • Implement various corporate initiatives, such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, and Internal Certification.
  • Promote development of people through continued education, employee involvement, and increased responsibility.
  • Actively drive and support Continuous Improvement processes, generating new ideas, working, and implementing them, and eliminating roadblocks.
  • Initiate and conduct process improvement dialogs with Section Managers, Team Leads, and Team Members.
  • Develop detailed near-term and long-term production plans.
  • Drive root cause analysis and resolution on all forms of loss, including safety, quality, and production.

Requirements:

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem-solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Transportation - MFG: Knowledge of transportation; ability to transport materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, and customers.
