Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Custodial Worker to join our team at the Air Mobility Command. As a Custodial Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our guests and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms, corridors, stairways, facilities, and other assigned areas
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors using brooms, mops, and lightweight floor scrubbers and buffers
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment
  • Empty ashtrays and wastebaskets, and replace liners
  • Polish door handles and other metal fixtures
  • Wash walls, windows, and blinds that can be reached without climbing ladders or scaffolds
  • Make beds and change linen
  • Collect soiled linen and deliver clean linen to designated areas
  • Clean and disinfect lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls
  • Clean mirrors, sinks, and water fountains
  • Dust ledges and woodwork
  • Replace deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, soap, and other complimentary sundry items
  • Report any maintenance issues or concerns to the supervisor

Requirements:

  • No previous experience or training is required
  • Must be able to follow simple oral and written instructions
  • Must be physically able to frequently lift and empty wastebaskets, and occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds

Working Conditions:

This is a non-exempt position that requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The Custodial Worker will be required to work in a variety of settings, including guest rooms, corridors, stairways, and facilities. The position requires standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
