Job Summary:

The Surgical Technician demonstrates basic knowledge and skills in the scrub role, necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of aseptic technique and be able to set up equipment, instrumentation, and sterile supplies as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment.
  • Set up and maintain equipment, instrumentation, and sterile supplies as needed.
  • Scrub and pass instruments and equipment during surgical procedures.
  • Pull cases as needed and break down cases at the end of the procedure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a surgical technician program as required by state regulation of practice or facility policy.
  • 1 year of experience as a surgical technician preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Surgical Technology Certification preferred.
