About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Quality and Continuous Improvement team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for driving and delivering improvement in quality of goods and services throughout the GroundProbe supply chain. This will drive customer satisfaction and deliver reductions in the cost of manufacturing our radar and scanning equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Be a local Engineering resource in Tucson, providing guidance and support to procurement and assembly teams, updating procedures, oversight of local suppliers fabricating designs, leading FAI (First Article Inspections), NCR (Non-conformance reports) and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) of Quality issues.
Undertake ECR (Engineering Change Requests) required to source parts locally, correct errors in documentation, improve quality, improve reliability, or reduce costs.
Support the Brisbane base engineering team in transferring new designs from Australia to Tucson, tasks to include project planning, updating of drawings, providing technical clarifications to local suppliers, training Tucson assembly technicians and leading FAI (First Article Inspections).
Work closely with electrical, mechanical and software engineers, as well as assembly technicians, product managers and other stakeholders.
Work with the product development team to develop and implement quality standards for materials, components and finished goods.

Requirements

Experience designing mechanical systems.
Development of test plans for both development and production testing.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly verbal and documentation skills.
Highly motivated individual, able to set priorities and meet deadlines, a strong team player.
Leadership skills.
Project management skills.
Experience with the SolidWorks toolchain.
