Job Summary

Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Vice President, Investment Banking to join our team in New York, NY. As a key member of our Capital Markets group, you will be responsible for developing detailed financial models, conducting due diligence, and advising clients on M&A transactions and corporate finance offerings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models, including restructuring, financing, and M&A models
  • Conduct asset-level due diligence on buyer/seller portfolios
  • Participate in and/or conduct due diligence sessions with companies
  • Work with analysts to develop financial models and pitch book materials
  • Conduct company research and analyze data to advise clients on M&A transactions and corporate finance offerings
  • Execute capital markets transactions, including reviewing legal documents and preparing committee memos
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a closely related field
  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in investment banking or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Capital markets experience
  • Spreadsheet modeling skills using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with financial analysis, valuations, and marketing materials
  • Ability to present analyses and deliverables in internal and external meetings
  • Transaction experience in buy-side and sell-side mandates with public companies
