Delicatessen Cook

We are seeking a skilled Delicatessen Cook to join our team at Augusta Street Market. As a Delicatessen Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and assembling a variety of deli items, including sandwiches, salads, soups, and prepared meals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, cook, and assemble deli items according to our daily production targets.
• Cook and assemble made-to-order sandwiches, both hot and cold.
• Prepare and assemble salads efficiently while maintaining high-quality and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked station.
• Monitor food quality, ensuring all deli items meet management standards before they are sold or leave the kitchen.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients.
• Work closely with kitchen management and kitchen staff to ensure that each service runs smoothly.
• Assist in other areas of the kitchen as needed, including prep work, assembly, cleaning, and inventory management.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a high-volume deli, sandwich shop, or similar fast-paced kitchen environment preferred.
• Basic understanding and fundamentals of culinary operations and food safety standards.
• Strong knife skills and the ability to operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, ovens, flat-top, and fryers.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality and attention to details.
• Ability to work effectively and closely with a focused and determined team with strong communication and collaborative skills.
