Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Allina Health Systems. As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide exceptional care to our patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic direct and indirect patient care, including taking and documenting vital signs, answering call lights, and assisting patients with activities of daily living.
  • Observe, collect, and document health status data as assigned, reporting any observations that are not within normal limits for the patient or are significantly changed.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as toileting, bathing, dressing, and eating, with direction from the Registered Nurse.
  • Perform personal care/interventions as assigned, including assisting patients with grooming and hygiene needs, maintaining skin integrity, and population-specific needs.
  • Complete admission/discharge/transfer functions per system workflow, and perform clerical duties and assist with patient registration.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required principle competencies.
  • Must meet one of the following requirements: one year of nursing assistant experience, completion of one semester of clinical rotations with an accredited nursing program, or licensed EMT or certified EMT.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Associate's or Vocational degree OR one to two years post-secondary education in a health-related field.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Must meet at least one of the following requirements: current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, current BLS certification from the American Red Cross, or Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire).
Physical Demands

Medium Work: lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally, up to 25 lbs. frequently.
