Magnet Medical is seeking a skilled Radiology Imaging Specialist for a travel assignment in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Salary and Benefits:The salary package includes $123,456 per year, with tax-free stipends determined on a case-by-case basis. The position requires 40 hours per week of work, spread over 8 hours per shift, with flexible scheduling to accommodate night shifts.
Responsibilities:The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain high-quality imaging while prioritizing patient comfort and care.
- Pre-Procedure Preparation:
- Determine the most suitable X-ray procedure based on patient medical history and physician orders.
- Verify that X-ray equipment is functioning correctly and ready for use.
- Gather informed consent forms, if necessary, and ensure patients understand the procedure.
- Position patients properly for accurate imaging, adhering to established guidelines.
- Performing X-Ray Imaging:
- Operate X-ray machines to capture images of bones, organs, tissues, and other internal structures as requested by physicians.
- Adjust machine settings to achieve optimal image quality, considering patient size, medical condition, and body part being imaged.
- Communicate effectively with patients during procedures, providing clear instructions to ensure clear and accurate images.
- Patient Safety and Comfort:
- Familiarize yourself with radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure risks for both patients and staff.
- Ensure patients are positioned safely to avoid injury or discomfort during imaging processes.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to anxious patients, addressing any concerns or side effects that may arise.
- Image Quality and Analysis:
- Evaluate X-ray images for diagnostic purposes, confirming they meet medical requirements for interpretation.
- Address any issues with image quality, repeating procedures as necessary to achieve optimal results.
- Offer preliminary assessments or observations to physicians, within the scope of practice.
- Post-Procedure Care:
- Assist patients after procedures, ensuring their stability and comfort before releasing them from the imaging area.
- Remove protective gear and provide post-procedure instructions, including follow-up requirements.
- Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Routine maintenance checks on X-ray equipment to ensure proper function and cleanliness.
- Troubleshoot basic issues with X-ray machines, reporting malfunctions to the appropriate personnel for repair or service.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Document patient information, procedures performed, and images captured in electronic health records (EHRs) or imaging systems.
- Label, file, and store images for future reference and analysis by physicians.
- Collaboration with Medical Team:
- Work closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to review images promptly and accurately.
- Communicate effectively about issues related to image quality or the need for additional imaging.
- Radiation Safety and Compliance:
- Comply with established radiation safety standards to minimize exposure risks.
- Utilize protective equipment when necessary to safeguard patients and staff.
- Professional Development and Training:
- Stay current with advancements in radiologic technology, including improvements in X-ray imaging and new safety protocols.
- Participate in continuing education programs, workshops, or certification courses to maintain licensure and adhere to industry standards.
