High Paying Travel Nursing Position for Operating Room RN

Travel Nurse Across America is seeking a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a rewarding travel nursing assignment in the United States.
About the JobThe ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant. This challenging role requires assisting physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients, providing pre- and post-surgery care, and educating patients on managing medication and home care needs.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Provide basic bedside care to patients undergoing surgery
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, monitoring any adverse reactions
- Serve as a liaison between patients' family members and the operating team
- Verify that the correct procedure is being performed on the correct patient
- Initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physicians
Circulating OR Nurses may also be responsible for responding to patients' comfort and safety needs, accurately handling specimens, monitoring equipment used during surgery, and maintaining inventory of surgical items.
Scrub OR Nurses are expected to handle and prepare operating instruments and equipment within the sterile field, while RN First Assistants assist physicians with direct surgical care, help control bleeding, and suture patients after surgery.
RequirementsTo succeed in this position, candidates should be able to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty, lift up to 20 pounds easily, and move or lift patients weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
A valid ACLS, BLS, PALS certification, and at least 2 years of recent acute care experience are required for this role. Additional certifications may be necessary before starting the assignment.
