Per Diem Nurse

Mass General Brigham is seeking a per diem / prn nurse RN OB/GYN for a per diem / prn nursing job in Boston, Massachusetts.
Key Responsibilities- Provide competent, compassionate nursing care based on scientific principles and the use of nursing process and a primary nursing model.
- Articulate the primary nursing role to the patient, family and health team members.
- Identify, facilitate, and evaluate outcomes of nursing care for an individual patient or group of patients.
- Coordinate involvement of the patient, family and health team members in patient care, including patient/family teaching.
- Document relevant patient information in patient record.
- Communicate the plan of care and other pertinent information to/from other health team members.
- Help define standards of excellence for patient care; participate in improvement of patient care services in a cost-effective way.
- Perform specific functions as described in the unit Scope of Service.
- Participate in and contribute to performance improvement activities for the unit.
- Provide care appropriate to age group of patients on assigned unit(s) as described in the relevant unit Scope of services.
- Perform duties associated with iron infusions- including IV placement.
This per diem / prn nursing position is for a registered nurse who will be responsible for providing nursing care to patients in the OB/GYN department.
The ideal candidate will have experience in OB/GYN nursing and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
The per diem / prn nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients on the unit, including administering medications, performing treatments, and documenting patient information.
The nurse will also be responsible for collaborating with the primary physician, members of the patient care team, support staff and nurse manager to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
The per diem / prn nurse will work 20-30 hours per week, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
Requirements- Current Massachusetts licensure as a registered nurse.
- OB/GYN experience preferred.
- New grads with a passion for women's health will be considered.
