Ahern is seeking a Fire Protection Design Manager to lead our design team in Omaha, NE. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and managing fire protection systems for various projects. Your expertise in AutoSPRINK and HydraCAD software will be essential in ensuring the quality of submittal drawings and calculations. You will also be responsible for mentoring and directing the design team, as well as maintaining technical certifications to obtain necessary permits and certificates. In conjunction with a Sales Project Manager, you will plan, organize, and execute projects through activities such as on-site field surveys, generating hydraulic calculations, submitting drawings to obtain the required building permits, 3D BIM coordination using NavisWorks, preparing stock lists, ensuring the projects adhere to the proposed timeline, and preparing project close-out, operation, and maintenance documents.

You will be challenged to excel beyond your expectations in a team-oriented, results-driven environment.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have 5-7 years of experience in a design role with increased responsibility within the fire protection industry. You will also need to be proficient in AutoSPRINK, mathematically and technically inclined to learn industry-specific software and codes, and able to lead others, work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment. A commitment to providing exceptional customer service, maintaining cutting-edge industry knowledge, and being able to execute tasks with a great amount of detail will be crucial.
