Referral Management Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Referral Authorization Specialist to join our team at the University of Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all referrals are managed effectively and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze information required to complete pre-authorizations with insurance carriers and service area contacts.
- Provide high-level customer service to both referring physicians and referred patients.
- Assist with operational patient flow and perform problem-solving as applicable.
- Maintain a current working knowledge of carrier contracts, changes, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Perform area-specific support activities.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- 1 year of relevant experience required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Working Conditions
This is a primarily sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings and programs.
