Job Title: Caregiver - Specialized Services

About the Job:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver to provide individualized supports to individuals with intellectual disabilities or Autism Spectrum Disorder in our community-based programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support services in a respectful, friendly, and professional manner that promotes client choice and autonomy.
  • Facilitate conversations and activities of interest to the individual, offering guidance, companionship, emotional support, and supervision for safety.
  • Advocate on behalf of consumers with family, peers, and community members as needed, introducing them to community resources and facilitating their usage.
  • Teach consumers safety skills in all aspects of community and home life, promoting social behavior and expectations.
  • Monitor emotional and physical well-being, administer medications as required, educate and assist with personal care, attend medical appointments, and ensure follow-up occurs.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to address mental health needs and develop effective safety plans for community outings and activities.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in human services preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
