About the Role

\

We are seeking an experienced Membership Representative to promote our core values and provide exceptional service to members. As Member Engagement Ambassador, you will be responsible for fostering positive relationships with members and prospective members, providing information and support, and promoting our programs and services.

\

Responsibilities

  • \
  • Promote and incorporate the YMCA's five core values into all aspects of membership engagement.\
  • Provide exceptional customer service to members and prospective members, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.\
  • Foster strong relationships with members, understanding their needs and preferences, and tailoring interactions to meet their individual needs.\
  • Stay up-to-date on YMCA programs and services, making informed recommendations to members and participating in promotional activities.\
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless member experiences.\
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required.\
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.\
  • Promote and sell retail items and products.\
  • Provide bilingual support to Spanish-speaking members and prospective members.\
  • Support family-friendly initiatives and events.\
  • Represent the YMCA at community events and functions.\
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills required.\
  • Customer service skills, communication skills, time management, teamwork, initiative, problem-solving, adaptability, flexibility, analytical thinking, and ability to work independently.\
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.\
  • Ability to learn and operate YMCA software systems.\
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in related field preferred.\
  • At least 2 years of customer-facing experience in sales, marketing, or a related field.\
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.\
  • Availability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.\
  • Passionate about working with diverse populations, particularly underserved communities.\
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate team members.\
  • Knowledge of local resources and organizations that serve the community.\
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.\
  • Results-driven and able to set goals and achieve them.\
  • Safety-conscious and committed to maintaining a safe environment for staff and members.\
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.\
  • Self-motivated, organized, and efficient in prioritizing tasks.\
