Job Title: Prosecutor for McKenzie County
About the Role:
The Prosecutor is a key member of our legal team, responsible for conducting lawsuits, case litigation, gathering evidence, and trial strategies. This position reports to the State's Attorney and is located in Watford City, ND.

Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced lawyer with strong litigation skills to join our team. As a Prosecutor, you will be responsible for:
✦ Gathering and managing evidence in civil, criminal, juvenile, and traffic cases.
✦ Presenting information in court to prosecute or defend actions.
✦ Advising law enforcement on constitutional requirements and protections.
✦ Conducting legal research and preparing legal correspondence, pleadings, briefs, and opinions.
✦ Advising elected and appointed officials and county employees on their legal rights and representing County agencies in legal proceedings.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
✦ A license to practice law in North Dakota.
✦ A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
✦ One (1) year of experience in criminal litigation or two (2) years of experience in active law practice, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
✦ Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations, as well as judicial and administrative procedures and rules of evidence.
✦ Proficiency in computer and related software applications.

Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position is commensurate with experience and level, ranging from $85,000 to $120,000 per year. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
