Job Summary

The Ophthalmology Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the ophthalmologist in providing high-quality patient care. This role involves assisting with patient evaluations, administering treatments, and collecting data to aid in diagnosis. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist ophthalmologists with patient evaluations and procedures
  • Collect and record patient data, including medical history and test results
  • Administer treatments and medications as ordered by the ophthalmologist
  • Supervise patients and provide education on eye care and treatment
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
Qualifications
  • Completion of an approved training program for Ophthalmology Assistant or equivalent experience
  • Certification as a Certified Ophthalmology Technician, Certified Ophthalmology Assistant, or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider
  • Wisconsin Background Study upon hire and renewal as required by state law
