Certified Medication Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medication Aide to join our team at Amergis. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to patients. Key Responsibilities- Administer medications to patients as directed by licensed nurses, ensuring accurate and timely administration.
- Obtain, record, and report patient vital signs as necessary during medication administration.
- Monitor patients for signs of medication reactions, adverse drug reactions, or medication side effects, and report any concerns to nursing staff.
- Store medications safely and accurately, adhering to facility policies and procedures.
- Adhere to federal and state regulations regarding medication storage and handling.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Inspect, clean, and monitor equipment and supplies to ensure patient safety.
- Report any equipment or supply issues to site supervisors.
- Practice universal precautions to prevent infection transmission.
- Adhere to Amergis and worksite rules, policies, and procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid CMA state certification or license, if required by state or contract.
- One year of experience as a medication aide preferred.
- Compliance with professional standards of practice.
- Participation in Amergis Competency program, if applicable.
- Current CPR certification, if applicable.
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable.
- Current Health certificate, per contract or state regulation.
- Meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Successful completion of new hire training, if applicable.
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in English language.
- Computer proficiency required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
