Available Schedules for Culinary Service Associate:

  • Part-Time: 19 hours (Sun. Mon. Tues. Thurs. – 3:15pm-8pm)/Wed. Fri. Sat. - OFF
  • Full-Time: 40 hours (6:30-3:00, Tuesday-Saturday)/Sunday & Monday - OFF

Position Summary:

This is a remarkable opportunity to work in a picturesque environment in the rolling hills of North Salem at a *5 Star Rated* facility in Westchester County, recognized for delivering exceptional care and resident experiences. Waterview Hills Campus encompasses both Waterview Hills and Salem Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare: two establishments dedicated to providing outstanding Subacute Rehabilitation and Long-Term Skilled Nursing Care. The Culinary Service Associate plays a vital role in ensuring our residents receive their meals and snacks in a clean and safe manner, adhering to all facility policies while prioritizing customer satisfaction.

  • Responsible for proper preparation and sanitation of the assigned kitchen station.
  • Comply with all designated break and service times.
  • Complete all assigned tasks per shift, which may include dishwashing duties.
  • Prepare both cold and hot food items according to dietary requirements and recipes.
  • Serve meals in the resident tray line and main dining area, or assemble trays as per prescribed diets.
  • Manage inventory and deliver prepared nourishment to nursing unit pantries at scheduled times.
  • Ensure safe handling of food products.
  • Transport food carts to all nursing units during meal service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and surroundings.
  • Perform sweeping, mopping, and garbage removal from all food service areas and staff dining rooms.
  • Set up and dismantle special functions as directed.
  • Possess knowledge of knife handling and small kitchen equipment, adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with all chemicals utilized in the department is required.
  • Deliver exemplary customer service to residents and all facility members.
  • Continuously enhance professional and technical knowledge through educational programs.
  • Maintain attendance records in line with facility standards.
  • Utilize equipment and supplies safely and economically.
  • Adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  • Follow all facility and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Some High School Education.
  • Experience in a kitchen within a healthcare environment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate flexibility.
  • Outstanding customer service abilities.
  • Covid-19 vaccinations are encouraged but NOT REQUIRED; vaccination availability is based on CDC eligibility guidelines.
