Job Overview

Grand Vision Gaming is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our team. This role requires attendance at our Billings, MT, Reno, NV, or Las Vegas, NV office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing source code and unit tests to ensure our gaming products meet company standards. They will also need to understand existing codebases to identify defects or inefficiencies and use problem-solving skills to make modifications that increase stability and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow a disciplined Agile software development process in task estimation, design, development, code reviews, unit testing, and defect fixes
  • Assist in creating technical design documents
  • Work with senior staff to develop and design source code that adheres to written specifications and protocol documentation
  • Document code and develop unit tests to verify changes
  • Analyze existing software to debug and troubleshoot field issues
  • Work with other Software Engineers to promote code reuse and designs in current projects
  • Identify and recommend software development process improvement initiatives
  • Help mentor junior software developers as needed
  • Assist in technical analysis of potential tools and commercial products

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline preferred
  • 2+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in the gaming industry
  • Working knowledge of Object-oriented programming, C++, C#, .NET framework, and Microsoft Visual Studio IDE
  • Working knowledge in one or more of the following is a plus: WPF, WCF, LINQ
  • Working knowledge of game engines is a plus
  • Database design and development experience using Microsoft SQL Server is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take charge of projects
  • Strong familiarity with the software development lifecycle and QA methodology
  • Experience in Windows operating systems and embedded software/firmware is a plus
  • Experience with source control (SVN, Git, etc.) and automated/continuous build environments
  • Experience with bug tracking tools and report generating
