Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced LPN to join our team as a Licensed Practical Nurse Specialist. In this role, you'll work alongside our healthcare professionals to deliver top-notch patient care, leveraging your knowledge and skills to provide focused assessments, develop effective care plans, and collaborate with our multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care using focused assessment in settings where nursing takes place under the direction of a Registered Nurse or other licensed UPMC provider.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination and address any concerns or needs.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships internally and externally by demonstrating accountability for actions, enthusiasm, motivation, and commitment to patients and colleagues.
  • Provide detailed and appropriate teaching to patients and families to effectively guide them through their episode of care and transition to another level of care or home.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A valid LPN license in the state where you're practicing or a multistate licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Able to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families.
  • Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities, and specialized equipment.
