About the Role

First Quality is seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join our team in Macon, GA. As a key member of our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) department, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a culture of safety and wellness throughout the organization
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and mitigate hazards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Provide training and education to employees on EHS policies and procedures
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root cause and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of EHS activities and incidents
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as environmental science, industrial hygiene, or safety engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in EHS, with a focus on regulatory compliance and hazard mitigation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other software applications, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly
