Estimated Salary: $44 per hour

Job Description:

The Medical Imaging Specialist will perform high-quality ultrasound procedures in compliance with established protocols. This role involves working a flexible schedule, ensuring patient care and safety in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform ultrasound procedures according to exam protocols.
  • Utilize effective communication techniques with patients and their families to explain procedures and provide comfort.
  • Prepare patients and equipment for procedures, ensuring proper positioning and exposure factors.
  • Adhere to safety and infection-control protocols while performing invasive procedures and maintaining sterile techniques.
  • Maintain and clean equipment to ensure optimal operational capabilities and report any issues as necessary.
  • Document procedures and maintain patient medical imaging records according to department policies.
  • Monitor and assess patient safety throughout the procedure.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate supplies inventory and screening individuals for department access as needed.
  • Provide training and mentorship to new team members and support staff.
  • Be available for on-call duty, if required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
  • Must hold one of the following certifications:
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in OB/GYN, Abdomen, Breast, Musculoskeletal, or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography or Breast Sonography
  • Cardio Credentialing International (CCI) in Registered Vascular Sonography
  • Proven ability to perform ultrasound procedures with minimal oversight.
