About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative Associate to join our team at Optum. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families, ensuring seamless registration and eligibility processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome patients in person, providing a positive first impression of our facility.
  • Collect demographic and insurance information, ensuring accurate and timely data entry into our electronic medical record system.
  • Check in and interview patients to complete necessary paperwork, streamlining the registration process.
  • Direct patients to their appointments or procedures, ensuring they receive the care they need in a timely manner.
  • Assist with scheduling add-on appointments, leveraging your expertise to meet patient needs.
  • Document any issues or resolutions in our electronic medical record, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Resolve claim issues or registration errors on patient accounts, delivering high-quality service to our patients.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits information for payers, interpreting results to ensure smooth billing processes.
  • Obtain cost information and explain it to patients as needed, providing clear and concise communication.
  • Collect co-pay or deductibles, responding to questions regarding financial assistance programs available.

Requirements:

  • 6+ months of customer service experience in an office/hospital setting.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work 8 hour shifts, 72 hours every two weeks, starting at 2:30pm, 3:30pm & 5:30pm (rotational basis).
  • Ability to work every other weekend, within the same hours.
  • Ability to work standard daytime hours during the training schedule, for the first 3 weeks upon starting.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
