About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to join our team at Ferrous Processing and Trading, a subsidiary of Cleveland-Cliffs Inc.

As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of trucks and heavy-duty machinery.

About the Job

The Heavy Duty Equipment Technician will ensure adherence to safety standards, perform repairs on engines, brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and electrical equipment, and inspect, lubricate, and service equipment per company maintenance schedules.

You will also be required to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, make necessary repairs, adjustments, or replacements, and drive trucks and trailers to test their performance.

Requirements
  • A High School Diploma/GED and a valid driver's license are mandatory. A CDL is preferred.
  • Experience as a diesel mechanic and experience with hydraulic systems are preferred.
  • Experience in welding and torching is also preferred.
  • A Mechanic license or equivalent experience is required.
  • You should be able to work independently, self-motivated, and self-directed, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to maintain accurate records and follow oral and written communication.
  • Ability to climb ladders or steps to reach objects, endure physical and outdoor work on a daily basis, and lift up to 50lbs.

Salary

The estimated salary range for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
