Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled People Operations Specialist to join our team at Upbring. This role will be responsible for leading people operations activities related to the life cycle of an Upbring Warrior from hire to retire for the non-federal programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage people operations related activities for assigned programs, including new hire pre-employment, background checks, pre-employment verification, pre-employment drug screenings, health and wellness audits, I-9 verification, record keeping, tracking, and new employee orientation.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate data entry of new hires, transfers, status changes, and voluntary separations.
  • Update and maintain an accurate tracker of all program staff for assigned programs to track pre-employment process, onboarding through 90-days, separations, and regular audits to ensure data and process integrity.
  • Maintain and audit employee files, records, and information in strict confidentiality, to ensure compliance.
  • People and Culture team liaison for annual policy acknowledgements for assigned programs.
  • People and Culture team liaison for annual MVR checks for assigned programs.
  • Responsible for coding of People Operations invoices.
  • Assist with annual projects such as driving record checks and other compliance.
  • Responsible for monthly notification to supervisors of past due employee performance evaluations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One (1) year of human resource experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), ATS, and HRIS systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in education sector with public, private, and/or Headquarters programs.
  • Current professional HR certification issued by HRCI (PHR or SPHR) or SHRM (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP).
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking/writing.
